Find good websites in Google News:

In Google News there is not an easy way to find the RSS of news related to certain keywords. Although this is more difficult than in Google Blogs (where you have a specific link with the RSS), you can still find the RSS if you know how the URL is structured.

Different ways of finding news related to a specific keyword/s in Google News:

First, you need to go to the Google News website: https://news.google.com/

Below, you will find some different methods that will find related news.  The first one will bring the most results, while the last one is the one that should bring the least results (but which should be most targeted).  Use the one that yields the quality and quantity of news you are happy with.

These are some examples of searches you can do, but there are many other possible combinations.  Try changing keywords to find the most appropriate one/s.

  1. Put your keywords in the Google News search box, and press the search button.  If you see that there are too many results and many are not related, try being more specific with the keywords or add more keywords that will narrow the results.  If the results are still not specific enough, you can target better results with the search tools.
  2. If you are still not getting good enough results, put your keywords in quotations, to narrow the results down even more.  Quotations tell Google to look for exact matches of those words and omit the rest.
  3. You will be able to narrow the results even more by using the search operator “intitle” in front of the keyword (if there is one keyword) or “allintitle” (if there are many keywords).  This will ensure that all the keywords you mentioned  are included in the  title/s of the news. The relevance of your search results will increase and number of results will more to the point of what you are looking for.
  4. If you put the words “inurl” in front of the keyword (if there is one keyword) or “allinurl” (if there are many keywords), this will narrow the results to those where your keywords are included in the URL.  Here again, the relevance will increase and the number of news results will go down.

Once you have narrowed down the number of sites you want to show, and you see that the results are in line with what you are looking for, you can find the RSS feed by making some changes to the url structure.
