Find More News By Looking at Google Blogs

One other way to find more news is by looking for and using content from Google Blogs.  By doing so, you can:

  1. Discover more blogs around your niche.
  2. Get all the news related to your niche, published on Google blogs, and bring them to your site.

This article concentrates on how to find the RSS of Google blogs that already group together news related to a specific keyword.

This option is a good way to find news related to your niche. Sometimes, you can have a lot of difficulties finding them, because your niche is very specific. But, bear in mind that Google blogs may not discriminate as to the quality of the news. Your results may bring news that may not be as high quality as you would expect.  One way to work around this is to import the news from Google Blogs as moderated. This means that they are brought to your attention, but  need to be approved before being published.

This article is a step-by-step guide on how to get the RSS for Google blogs, related to a specific niche.

  1. Do a search for Google Blogs.  You can find it easily by putting Google blogs in the URL. Or by just putting http://www.google.com/blogsearchin the search bar.step-1
  2. Put your keyword in the search box of Google

  3. Once you see the results start by clicking the “search tools” button (in yellow below). Here, you will see more search parameters (below) that will help you focus the search even further.  Pick how you would like to organize the results by time, relevance, etc.

  4.  Then go to the bottom of the page and you will see an RSS button.  Press it to get the RSS feed.

Shortcut – The URL pattern for all specific feeds (keywords) in Google blogs will be always be the same, except the actual keyword as is displayed below. Some of the things you may want to change are the language (in yellow, en for English) and the keyword (in this example “shoes”)

      • If you want to create a feed with those blog posts that have a certain word in the news, use the following type of feed (changing shoes to your preferred keywords).

https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=shoes&tbm=blg&output=rss

      • If you want to create a feed with those blog posts that have a certain word in the title of the news, use the following type of feed (changing shoes to your preferred keywords).

https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=intitle:shoes&tbm=blg&output=rss

      • If you want to create a feed with those blog posts that have a certain word in the url of the news, use the following type of feed (changing shoes to your preferred keywords).

https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=inurl:shoes&tbm=blg&output=rss

If you are looking for feeds with more than one word:

If you are looking for more than one keyword, all you need to do is add the second word after the first one with a plus sign in between.  You would also need to change to the search operator “allintitle” or “allinurl” to make sure that the two words are found.

For example (for allintitle):

https://news.google.com/news/feeds?hl=en&gl=ar&q=allintitle:shoes+white&um=1&ie=UTF-8&output=rss

For example (for allinurl):

https://news.google.com/news/feeds?hl=en&gl=ar&q=allinurl:shoes+white&um=1&ie=UTF-8&output=rss

For General news:

https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=shoes+white&tbm=blg&output=rss
